BlueSpruce Rambler – S.Reflexum
This evergreen Sedum grows blue coloured ‘spruce-like’ leaves, stems rising up to 15cm high, plus 10cm more sunshine yellow flowers each summer,Spreads far and wide, rooting and branching as it rambles.
Sedum reflexum aka Spruce Stonecrop (=Sedum rupestre) is a fantastic vigorous species of Stonecrop, excellent as a groundcover or ‘blue lawn substitute’ in hot, sunny areas. It forms a mat of blue leaves, arranged around the stems like spruce needles. Clusters of bright yellow star flowers appear in summer. A fast grower, this is best kept away from slower alpine plants that it might smother as it rambles over them. Therefore its a great choice for tubs and mixed containers …transplant the sedum elsewhere when all else has withered and faded.
