Sedum takesimense Atlantis (‘Nonsitnal’)
was the 2019 Chelsea Plant of The Year …it’s ‘an attractive, easy to grow, versatile and multi-functional plant. Originally from south Korea, this variegated sport is cold-hardy (-10) in the UK, drought-tolerant and needing little maintenance it’s very easy-to-grow like all of our Splash Sedums.
Perfect as ground cover, or for filling in gaps between plants, the succulent leaves of Atlantis forms a spreading mound of rosettes.
The naturally creeping form makes it ideal for softening hard edges such as paths and walls, and in pots, containers and Hanging Baskets
Leaves initially emerge in Spring like little humbugs with scalloped ends, forming a wide cushion of striking serrated green leaves bordered in cream, stems often glowing pink. These are followed by sunshine yellow flowers (July to October).
In autumn, the plants are flushed with a subtle pink colour change. This worldwide-popular plant was found growing in Michigan, USA in 2013 on a nursery that specialises in plants for ground cover, green roofs and walls.
