At SedumShack we want you to know how your order will be packed and delivered….
Any orders placed late monday (after 4PM) or Tuesday must wait for the next weeks shipping out on Tuesday > Wednesday.
PACKING YOUR ORDER
We have years of experience of mailing plants… rest assured your order will be packed with due diligence in a unique way to ensure your plants arrive in perfect condition. We want your shopping experience to be a positive one and hope you will be a repeat customer like many before you. We include a further 15% discount code with your delivery so you or a friend can order at ‘mates rates‘next time. A growing guide is sent by email to help you on your way , and of course we are here to help you,if we can.
Packing materials are mostly recyclable but polythene and sellotape is used. Strong cardboard boxes are REUSED once more to cut costs and save the planet, a little…
DELIVERING YOUR ORDER
We want you to receive your living product in your hand never more than 2 days after we sealed the box. We pick, clean and prepare your plants beforehand …We get up early on packing day and wait for the postman a few hours later. Then they begin their 24 hour journey to your door …FRESH and healthy and your box will be delivered next day. We use Royal Mail Tracked 24 service for ALL small and medium orders. Royal Mail collect on Tuesday and deliver next day. It is not a signed for service but you can leave ‘safe place’ info when ordering to help if you’re not in that day.IF you leave your email at ordering they message you delivery information when out for delivery, and when delivered (A location is bleeped at delivery and). You can also follow the delivery location with Royal Mail …I email this to you once collected and in transit toward YOU….and you have some time to amend, or delay delivery (at Royal Mail.com if needed).
NOTE: our STANDARD P+P charge is £4.95. The Royal Mail cost to us is £4.15 which leaves us 80p for packing costs needed to protect the plants.
Orders over £60 will be delivered FREE of charge.
WE usually post out on Tuesdays , so orders usually arrive Wed. After Bank Holidays , or occasionally, it will be Wednesday packing to be delivered Thursday…That leaves Friday just in case something unusual happens and avoids any weekend overstays in a b
Planting your Sedums outside in your Garden
- Give the plugs a flying start when planting by adding extra sand or grit to improve drainage and reduce fertility.
- Brick dust and poor soil is better than rich compost and manure or extra fertiliser - these are Succulents and are very efficient nutrient scavengers.
- A 'John Innes No.3' formula is ideal if you must buy some in a bag, but add more grit sand or perlite for extra drainage and lower fertility.
- Mulch on top with more sand or grit or gravel, gently, just supporting the plants. This looks good and helps deter slugs and snails, if you have any.
- Water once if its very sunny, or the soil or compost is very dry. Wait for any nearby weeds to wilt first before thinking about watering ...its detrimental otherwise. And thats it....walk away and enjoy - the SedumShack way. Tidy up twice a year and , nature permitting, they will thrive....
